Heating & Cooling Expansion Vessels
At Pump Sales Direct we stock a range of expansion vessels for both heating and cooling systems.
We supply products from some of the country’s leading suppliers that pride themselves on manufacturing high-quality and durable systems, including Gitral and Reflex.
A heating expansion vessel is fitted within a closed heating system when an increase in water volume needs to be facilitated as the temperature rises. When the temperature of the water increases, additional volume is created to allow the water into the vessel. The water then flows back through the heating system when the temperature drops again.
This helps to reduce the system’s energy consumption by maintaining the same pressure.
The products we have in stock have been designed for a range of different systems and can accommodate varying requirements. We offer a choice of maximum working pressures and operating temperatures, and have vessels with capacities ranging from 25 litres to 600 litres.
The heating expansion vessel is supplied pre-pressurised at 1.5 bar, which makes it easy to install and use. The connection is ready to go and the vessel simply needs to be fitted into the plumbing system.
The size of the heating expansion vessel you require will depend on the capacity of the calorifier that is installed. In practice you should allow for an expansion tank that can accommodate 10% of the capacity.
